Welcome back! We’re continuing our discussion of the Kishotenketsu, or Japanese Four Act, method of plotting. Today we’ll talk about some of the intricacies of the method you should know before you try it. The Japanese Four Act structure is an interesting addition to any writers arsenal. This plotting method is based on eastern principles of determinism and based on the honor/shame tradition of many Asian cultures. Anyone from a teen writer to an experienced novelist will glean something interesting from this unique style. My favorite books on writing: Stein on Writing- The Art of Fiction- The Art of Nonfiction- The Romantic Manifesto- The First Five Pages- The 3 Act Story Structure – Atlas Shrugged, by Ayn Rand – The Fountainhead, by Ayn Rand – Check out my website, Is someone looking for copywriting or video production services? I really liked learning about this method! I have one nitpick about the video though: the transitions were a bit much and distracting. Other than that, very interesting, so thank you!
